Organic Lawncare 101
GOOD LAWN CARE PRACTICES
MOW HIGH | Your grass should be at least 4 inches tall after mowing. Adjust your mower deck to the highest setting. This is the key to shading out weeds and improving grass health.
DON’T BAG | Leave grass clippings on your lawn. They are a free source of nitrogen and help preserve moisture in the soil.
THE 1/3rd RULE | Never cut more than 1/3rd of the length off the grass blade at one time.
MOW DRY | Mowing wet grass can spread disease.
MOW SHARP | Use a sharp mower blade to reduce damage to grass blades improves disease resistance.
WATERING | Water deeply, not frequently. This allows for deep root growth. Your lawn needs about 1” per week.
PATIENCE | Organic lawns improve with every application over several years, as nutrients build up and soil life multiplies.
